Koreaanse skincare routine voor beginners: stap voor stap
Share
A Korean skincare routine for beginners consists of a few simple steps: cleanse, hydrate and protect. You don't need ten products to get started — with four basic products you already lay a strong foundation for healthy, glowing skin. In this article we explain step by step how to begin.
The famous "10-step Korean routine" scares off many beginners. The good news: it really isn't necessary. It's all about consistency and the right products for your skin, not the number of steps.
The basic routine in 4 steps
- Cleanser — removes dirt and excess sebum. In the evening you can double cleanse: first with an oil cleanser, then with a water-based cleanser.
- Toner — restores the pH balance and prepares the skin for the next steps. Korean toners are often hydrating rather than drying.
- Moisturizer — adds moisture and locks it in. Choose a light gel for oily skin or a richer cream for dry skin.
- Sunscreen (daytime) — the most important anti-aging step. Every morning, all year round.
Want to expand? Add these once you're ready:
- Essence: a light, hydrating layer between toner and serum.
- Serum: targeted at a specific goal, such as pigmentation, hydration or pores.
- Sheet mask: a weekly boost of moisture and care.
Tip for beginners:
Introduce new products one at a time, with a few days in between. That way you know exactly how your skin reacts and you avoid irritation.
